There needs to be at least ¼ to ½ inch of hair to wax effectively. This usually means about 2 to 3 weeks of growth. Waxing clients cannot tan 24 hours prior to waxing or 24 hours after waxing and/or having received a chemical peel. We perform facial and body waxing.
Palomar has developed and patented Fractional Photothermolysis to create a revolutionary treatment: soft tissue coagulation and non-ablative skin resurfacing with high efficacy and no downtime.
The Palomar LUX 1540 Fractional Laser Handpiece delivers light in an array of high precision microbeams. These microbeams create narrow, deep columns of tissue coagulation that penetrate well below the epidermis and into the dermis, while sparing the tissue surrounding the columns from damage. 1540 is great for lines, wrinkles, acne scars, pigmentation disorders, sun damage, etc. Super results on face, neck, chest, back of hands...
The Palomar LUX 1540 microbeams penetrate deeper (up to 1 mm) than other devises. These deep columns of coagulated tissue initiate a natural healing process that accelerates the formation of new, healthy tissue to fill in the damaged treatment zones; the deeper the columns, the more new tissue. Coagulated collagen and cellular debris is expelled as skin is resurfaced. Throughout the process, the integrity of the top layer of skin is maintained, which protects the tissue from infection as it heals. Even one or two treatments can often help the texture of the skin.

High Efficacy, No Downtime, Safety and Comfort with simultaneous active contact cooling. LUX 1540 treatments are significantly more comfortable than systems that deliver beams over longer periods of time.
Dermal fillers are substances that are injected just below the surface of the skin to fill in lines, wrinkles, and scars. Unlike face-lifts that stretch the skin, fillers add volume for a more natural youthful appearance. Fillers can also increase the fullness of the lips and lessen the downward slant of the corner of lips. The most common areas treated are the smile lines around the nose and mouth, fine lines above the mouth, frown lines between the eyes, loss of volume around the eye and cheek area, and acne scars.
Hyaluronic acid is a natural substance found in skin and works to trap water and maintain the intercellular space within the dermis. As our skin ages, hyaluronic acid, collagen and elastin are gradually lost from the dermis. The end result is volume loss, skin laxity, and wrinkles.
Restylane®, Perlane® and Juvederm™ are non-animal stabilized hyaluronic acid based dermal fillers. They are FDA approved for the treatment of moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds. The difference between Restylane and Perlane is the gel particle size. Perlane gel particles are larger and designed for deeper injection than Restylane. Juvederm comes in different formulations as well, Juvederm ultra and Juvederm Ultra Plus. Dr. Giacobbe will decide which product is right for you and you specific areas of concern.
The dermal fillers are used to replenish the dermal volume loss that allows wrinkles to form. It is also used to enhance lips and fill in acne scars. Because it is a natural occurring substance they have a low incidence of hypersensitivity reactions and require no skin testing prior to treatment. The chemically stabilized hyaluronic acid found can remain in the dermis up to one year. This is significantly longer than the collagen based dermal fillers.
Once injected, they integrate into the dermis and bind with water. The results are immediate. It does nothing to hinder the normal metabolism and movement of nutrients and oxygen. Over time, they are gradually reabsorbed without a trace. For this reason, follow up treatments are needed to maintain your results at 6 to12 month intervals. The amount used during your treatment depends on the desired correction. Side effects include redness, swelling, and injection site pain that may last for up to one week.
BOTOX® Cosmetic is a simple, therapeutic, nonsurgical muscle-relaxing agent. Botox® is physician-administered treatment that can temporarily smooth moderate to severe frown lines between the brows in people from 18 to 65 years of age. It is the only treatment of its type approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
One 10 to 15 minute treatment just a few tiny injections, and within 3 -7 days there's a noticeable improvement in moderate to severe frown lines between the brows, around the eyes or wherever your physician treats the wrinkles. Given its unique mechanism of action, Botox® offers sustained relief, dose after dose over the course of long-term treatment. The relief you will feel from a single treatment of Botox® will normally be sustained for approximately three to four months. You will notice a gradual fading of its effects. At this point, you will return to your doctor for your next treatment.
Usually, Botox® treatments are required only three or four times a year. Symptoms may vary throughout the course of the condition, and so the degree of relief and duration of effect varies from person to person. Consulting with our physicians, who have special knowledge about how to achieve the best possible results with Botox® for your individual case is the best way to get long lasting and effective results.
